The Foundational Biodiversity Information Programme
The Foundational Biodiversity Information Programme (FBIP) is a long-term programme to generate, manage and disseminate foundational biodiversity information and knowledge to improve decision-making, service delivery and create new economic opportunities.
The Foundational Biodiversity Information Programme (FBIP) is funded by the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI). The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) and the National Research Foundation (NRF) jointly manages the programme.

600 “climate indicator” strains deposited into ARC fungi vault
Approximately 600 fungal strains were deposited into the National Collection of Fungi – these will serve as bioindicators.
