Call for Postdoctoral Scholarships for Research on Natural Science Collections or Collection Data in SA (December 2017)

This call is now closed

The Natural Science Collections Facility, which is funded by the Department of Science & Technology as part of the South African Research Infrastructure Roadmap (SARIR), is offering two-year postdoctoral scholarships for research on South African collections or specimen data. The objective of the postdoctoral grants is to enhance capacity for natural science collections-related research.

FBIP Scholarships for 2018

This call is now closed

The FBIP is offering the following bursaries for postgraduate studies for the 2018 academic year:

  • 8 Honours bursaries with a value of R65,000 each (funding for one year)
  • 4 Masters bursaries with a value of R90,000 per year for a maximum of two years
  • 1 Doctoral bursary with a value of R120,000 for three years

Study field:

Successful applicants will be expected to carry out projects in taxonomy, DNA barcoding, generation of species occurrence records / data or the application / use of such data in addressing questions relevant to global change or the bioeconomy.
